Ingredients:
- [1/4 cup] orange juice
- [1] large Granny Smith apples
- [1] large pear
- [3 tbsp] sugar
- [1 tpbs] unsalted butter
- [1 tbsp] orange zest
- [] cinnamon
- [] ground nutmeg
- [] ground cloves
- [] corn starch
- cream cheese dough
- optional milk for garnish
Stuffing
- Peel, core and cut apples and pears into bite-sized chunks
- Put the fruit, butter, orange juice and zest in a medium sauce pan
- Cook for about 5 minutes
- Mix in the corn starch and cook for another minute
- Let the mixture cool
Assembly and baking
- Roll the dough so it's about 1/8" thick (can be a bit thicker)
- Fill half the pastry leaving 3/4" border near the edge
- Fold the pastry and pinch the edges
- Brush the top with milk or cream, and sprinkle with sugar
- Bake in 400F for 10 min.
- Lower the temperature to 350F and bake for another 20min (or until brown)
